Advancing Inclusive Development: RES at the INCLUDE–African Policy Dialogue

Research Enterprise Systems (RES) was ably represented at the 5-Day INCLUDE–African Policy Dialogue (APD) held in Accra, Ghana, organized by the Knowledge Platform on Inclusive Development Policies. The APD brings together policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders from Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Uganda to promote evidence-based policymaking on pressing development challenges across Africa.

At the dialogue, RES Executive Director, Prof. Fatai Aremu, presented a research paper titled “From Dialogue to Policy Action: How Research-Policy Engagement Shifts Norms and Practices in Agriculture and Agro-processing for Inclusive Growth in Nigeria.” Drawing on a multi-year study of Nigeria’s agricultural value chain, the paper explored how sustained engagement between researchers and policymakers is fostering systemic change in the agro-processing sector, promoting inclusive growth and structural reforms within Nigeria’s agriculture landscape.

The dialogue highlighted the critical role of research-policy partnerships in advancing inclusive development, with discussions focusing on pathways to translate actionable research into effective policies and programs across participating countries. RES’s participation underscores its commitment to bridging research and policy for transformative change, ensuring that evidence guides Africa’s journey toward sustainable and equitable development.
