RES Kicks Off Capacity Building Program for Legislative Aides
On Tuesday, 19th to Thursday, 21st August 2025, Research Enterprise Systems (RES), in partnership with the National Assembly, successfully commenced the first session of its 3-Month Capacity Building Program for Legislative Aides of the 10th National Assembly in Abuja.
The training themed “Building Capacity and Enhancing Performance of Legislative Aides,” the training convened a dynamic cohort of Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Senior Legislative Aides, and Legislative Aides from both the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The inaugural session focused on enhancing the capacity of Senior Legislative Aides in critical areas, including: Legislative procedures, Budget oversight, Communication& stakeholder engagement and Code of Conduct among others.
Delivered by seasoned facilitators, the expert-led sessions combined with peer learning opportunities underscored the essential role legislative aides play in supporting lawmakers and advancing effective governance.
The successful kickoff marks the beginning of a nationwide initiative aimed at equipping legislative aides with the tools and knowledge needed to drive meaningful impact across Nigeria’s legislative landscape.
Essentially, the training aligns with RES mission to empower supply and demand sides of evidence value chain for sustainable social, political and economic development.
