RES Trains on Social Media Advocacy and Political Participation at BBFORPEACE Workshop
On June 10th, 2024, Olaogun Michael Sunkanmi, Programs Manager at Research Enterprise Systems (RES), facilitated a training session on:
“Social Media Advocacy, Dialogue, and Political Participation.”
The session was part of a two-day Training of Trainers on Combating Hate Speech and Harmful Narratives Online and Offline in Nigeria, organized by BBFORPEACE.
The training highlighted the importance and strategies for using social media as a tool for promoting active political participation devoid of hate speech. Participants were equipped with practical approaches to leverage social media for positive advocacy, fostering dialogue, and encouraging constructive civic engagement while countering harmful narratives in Nigeria’s political and social spaces.
This engagement aligns with RES’s mission to build capacities that strengthen evidence-driven advocacy, peaceful dialogue, and inclusive participation in democratic processes.
