RES Leads 2025 Webinar on Reintegration of Ex-Inmates: Barriers Beyond Bars
On March 27th, 2025, Research Enterprise Systems (RES) hosted its first research webinar of the year, themed “Barriers Beyond Bars: Ex-Inmates’ Quest for a Dignified and Fulfilling Livelihood.”
The webinar responded to the urgent need for collaborative and participatory research approaches that position ex-inmates as active contributors to policy and program development. The session brought together a diverse panel of experts, policymakers, and advocates to explore the systemic challenges facing individuals after incarceration across Africa.

Current state of reintegration programming in African countries
Barriers to social and economic inclusion for ex-inmates
Strategies for evidence-based, dignified post-incarceration support
Roles of governments, CSOs, and international actors in strengthening reintegration systems
