Second Strategic Capacity Building Workshop Strengthens Grant Proposal Writing Skills

On February 22, 2024, Research Enterprise Systems held its second strategic capacity-building workshop of the year, aimed at strengthening the grant proposal writing skills of its staff. The training focused on equipping participants with practical tools and knowledge to craft compelling grant proposals that align with funding priorities and RES’s mission to support evidence-driven development initiatives.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Paul, a consultant and specialist on security, conflict, and peace with the African Security Sector Network (ASSN). Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, staff members gained insights into structuring proposals, identifying donor priorities, and articulating project objectives and outcomes effectively.

Speaking during the session, the Executive Director of RES, Professor Aremu Fatai Ayinde, emphasized the importance of nurturing a new generation of analysts who can bridge the gap between research and policy. “In today’s rapidly changing landscape, building a robust evidence ecosystem requires investing in young professionals who will drive the future of policy impact across Africa,” he noted.

This workshop is part of RES’s ongoing commitment to enhance internal capacity for resource mobilization and to position the organization to engage strategically with partners and funders in advancing sustainable development across Africa.
